The 8 Dimensions of Wellness are aspects of our lives that influence our health and well-being.
We often hear about health and wellness. Usually when we talk about it we are talking about our physical health, our weight, what we eat, exercise, etc. Sometimes we talk about our mental health, but for a long time this subject was taboo and we still sometimes shy away from it. While our physical and mental health is very important, there are so many other areas of our life that influence our well-being and happiness.
We present to you the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. By taking a holistic approach to your wellness you can live a much more fulfilled and balanced life. A balanced life is a happy life.
We know that looking at all these different dimensions can be overwhelming, and it could seem like just more things to add to an already full “to do” list. Take a deep breath and remind yourself that wellness is a journey, not a destination. We don’t need to be perfect and you are not failing at life if any, or all of these areas are a mess.
Allow yourself to relax into the journey. It is the small steps taken every day that make the difference so celebrate them.
Over the next few weeks we will be looking at each dimension in more detail. We will look at what each dimension encompasses and what small tweaks we can make in our lifestyles to lead us on the journey of wellness.
